The Williams Family

The following is a document found in the papers of Sylvia Nell Williams. I believe that William Williams was her grandfather. I have, as of yet, not found any supporting documentation for this but will continue the search.

On page one there is a mention of Col. Ephraim Williams who, possibly, is yet another member of this extended family. It indicates that Williams College was, quite possibly, named after Col. Williams.

The back of page four is written "Nell Williams".

William Williams married the daughter of Governor Trumbull of Connecticut.

If you double click on the image it should become a full page.

The sixtieth anniversary of the Black River Academy was 1895 when Sylvia Nell Williams attended. The most famous graduate of the school was Calvin Coolidge. See the following link for additional information: http://www.okemovalleyvt.org/frame.html?target=107.

Sylvia and Stuyvesant

This is a one of a kind photo of my father, Stuyvesant (aka Stuyvie, Stuy and Dancing Bear) soon after he was born in Pittsburgh. The spot seen on his lips is a defect in the picture. I have yet to run across a similar picture showing him in infancy.

Paternal grandmother Sylvia was born in Essex, Connecticut and is buried there. She was a Registered Nurse for many years at Amsterdam Hospital and did private care. She lived, bedridden, for many years at 66 McClellan Avenue and 22 McClellan Avenue where she was cared for by Toddy who was also a Registered Nurse.
